Vans Gilbert Crockett Pro 2 Skate Shoes Wear Test Review
The next generation of Wafflecup has arrived with the Vans Gilbert Crockett 2 Skate Shoes. The hybrid construction offers Vans' classic board feel in the forefoot while providing increased support and stability in the heel. Although they feel a little stiffer out of the box than most Vans shoes, our wear testers had no problem breaking them in within their first session. As with every Vans Pro skate shoes, they also have Vans' comfy Ultracush HD insoles for impact protection and Duracap rubber underlays for increased durability.
Tactics crew members Tim McCoy and Graig Anderson each skated their pairs for three and a half weeks before filming their reviews. The outsoles held up very well, and the Duracap backed suede toes provided extra life to the upper, but they both ripped holes in the usual areas. If you want to maximize durability, we recommend sticking to colorways with a full suede upper. Overall, they were hyped on the comfort and all around skateability of the shoes. If you're looking for a similar shoe with more padding around the collar, check out the Vans Kyle Walker Pro.
