Vans Kyle Walker Pro Skate Shoes Wear Test Review
The Vans Kyle Walker Pro is designed for skaters who want to get after it on big gaps and transition, so we packed our bags and hit the road with team riders Beau Cummins and Jesse Lear-Konold to wear test the shoes at some of Oregon's most legendary skateparks. Come along for the journey in our Road Trip Recap.
The shoe utilizes Vans Waffle Cup construction to offer cupsole support under the heel with vulcanized flexibility under the forefoot. It also packs UltraCush HD insoles for even more comfort and protection. The toe broke in quickly, but the thicker heel took a few hours of skating before it began to flex naturally. Although it feels a bit bulkier than most Vans shoes, our guys were still able to skate hard and stomp their tricks on day one. After days of heavy skating, their bodies were beat but their feet were always ready for the next session.
As expected, the shoes were still in great condition after our three day road trip, so we caught back up with Beau three weeks later to see how they looked. A small hole in the suede formed in the ollie area, but the well placed Duracap underlay prevented any blowouts. The outsole looks almost as good as new, and the initial stiffness in the heel has translated to long lasting support. Beau is looking at about two more weeks in this pair before worrying about them ripping or getting floppy.
