Lurpiv Trucks | Product Review
Lurpiv Trucks were founded in 2021 by Swedish transition wizard, Oskar Rozenberg. The initial launch of Lurpiv brought mixed reviews due to some kingpin issues, but the second iteration is in our shops, and hopefully here to stay. Oski put in the hard work to R & D Lurpiv this time around, so we needed to put them to the test for ourselves. We enlisted our team rider Caleb from Tactics Eugene to put the new Lurpiv trucks through their paces in our most recent YouTube Product Review. Here's a rundown of his experience:
Sharp Turns and Responsiveness:
The standout feature of the Lurpiv trucks is their incredible turning ability. Caleb describes them as the sharpest turning trucks he's ever used, which can be a good thing for quick decisions and carving. However, Caleb noted that the high level of responsiveness can also feel a bit unpredictable at times, especially when transitioning between stable grinds and sharp turns.
Durability and Performance:
Despite initial concerns about the responsiveness, Caleb found the Lurpiv trucks to be quite durable. They held up well to impacts and grinds, with the bushings maintaining their shape throughout the testing period. The baseplates also slid quite smoothly for nose and tailslides.
Anti-Wheelbite System:
Lurpiv truck geometry has a built-in anti-wheelbite system that helps prevent the wheels from contacting the deck during sharp turns. While not foolproof, Caleb found it to be significantly better than standard trucks in this regard.
Break-In Period:
The trucks felt quite stiff out of the box, but loosened up considerably after a few sessions. This break-in period may require some adjustment to get them to where you want them (like any trucks.)
In conclusion, Lurpiv trucks offer a unique combination of sharp turning, durability, and an innovative anti-wheelbite system. However, their high responsiveness comes with a bit of a learning curve.
