For comfortable warmth on chilly days, the jacket is equipped with 80g of low-loft insulation in the body and 60g in the sleeves. GORE-TEX® - GORE-TEX® fabric is incredibly durable, waterproof, breathable, and totally windproof. A single square inch of this fabric contains 9 billion microscopic pores—each 20,000 times smaller than a raindrop, but 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapor. Water can’t pass through the fabric, yet perspiration escapes with ease. You’ll find this next level molecular construction on all GORE-TEX® fabrics.
Fully Taped - Having outerwear with fully taped seams means that on the inside of the jacket all the seams are covered in tape to provide the most effective waterproofing. It can be considered a key feature if you live in a wet climate or are planning on wearing the jacket during heavy rains. The downside is that due to the full taping there is less breathability than you'd experience with critically taped seams.
Low-Loft Synthetic - Low-loft insulation provides warmth without losing versatility. Because low-loft insulation is made of synthetic fibers it maintains much of its insulating ability even when wet. A lower loft rating means it won't keep you as warm as jackets with high loft but it's more versatile and dries more quickly than traditional down.
Synthetic insulation is measured in grams, so a jacket with a 80g rating simply means that a 1 meter by 1 meter piece of that particular jacket's insulation weighs 80 grams. The higher the rating, the warmer the outerwear.
