The Vans Skate Sk8-Mid is a mid top version of the Vans Sk8-Hi. This shoe worn frequently by iconic skateboarder Jeff Grosso (R.I.P.) belongs in Vans's new line of "Skate Classics." These are the most iconic skate shoes created by Vans but revamped to fit the needs of modern day skateboarding. These shoes integrate tongue straps for a snug fit, DURACAP™ underlay for durability, SickStick™ a rubber compound used to make a grippy outsole, and internal heel shanks to deliver more board feel in order to create a classic yet modern skate shoe.
Vulcanized - “Vulc” shoes are light, flexible and break in quickly. These don't provide as much foot protection as cupsoles, but they are preferred if you’re looking for good board feel in a shoe with less weight and bulk.
Pro VULC Construction - For intuitive control, fifty years of proven Vans professional vulcanized natural gum rubber outsole constructions deliver the ultimate in board feel, flex and traction.
Duracap™ - Developed and tested to withstand the abuse of the Vans pro skateboarding team; reinforcement is provided through rubber underlays in the toebox and ollie-area for lasting durability to save you time and money.
OTW Tread Pattern - This OTW traditional tread pattern ties back to the Vans heritage.
