The Vans Era was the second model of shoe ever produce by Vans. First seen in 1976 the era featured a padded collar and different color combinations. Designed with input from Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta, the Era influenced a whole generation of skateboarders. Vans gave the Era a complete make over and presents the Vans Skate Era. This shoe belongs to a line of iconic shoes called the "Skate Classics." These shoes integrate tongue straps for a snug fit, DURACAP™ underlay for durability, SickStick™ a rubber compound used to make a grippy outsole, and internal heel shanks to deliver more board feel in order to create a classic yet modern skate shoe.
Vulcanized - “Vulc” shoes are light, flexible and break in quickly. These don't provide as much foot protection as cupsoles, but they are preferred if you’re looking for good board feel in a shoe with less weight and bulk.
PopCush™ - Vans' PopCush insoles snap back and won't pack! This proprietary foam compound was meticulously tuned and tested for impact protection, superior cushioning, and custom energy return. This upgraded foam performs better than Vans' UltraCush™ compound for all types of skating so you can skate longer and go harder than ever before.
Duracap™ - Developed and tested to withstand the abuse of the Vans pro skateboarding team; reinforcement is provided through rubber underlays in the toebox and ollie-area for lasting durability to save you time and money.
SickStick™ - Taking inspiration from Vans' beloved original gum rubber formula, the SickStick formula is the grippiest and the stickiest gum sole in Vans history. Extensively tested by Vans' team riders, the formula is uniquely calibrated to deliver enhanced grip and durability, and also make a firm bind to the foxing tape, so you can be in complete control of your board.
