Overview

Known for being lightweight and durable, the Thunder Hollow Lights Skateboard Trucks reduce weight without sacrificing strength. With the same quick turn response, these trucks feature a hollow axle and kingpin with forged baseplates that provide more strength and impact resistance than cast baseplates. Sold as a set of two in multiple axle sizes.

Features

Axle/Kingpin Style

Hollow Axle & Kingpin - Hollow axle trucks cut down on the materials used in the axle, so your trucks feel lighter. Hollow kingpins further reduce weight while still maintaining strength in this critical area.

Baseplate Style

Forged - Forged baseplates are compression molded making them lighter, stronger, and more impact resistant compared to cast or poured-mold baseplates. Forging also eliminates the most common manufacturing defects and imperfections.

Non-Compatible Risers

Risers from the following brands are not compatible with the baseplates of these trucks.

Arbor, Diamond, Dooks, Girl, Independent, Loaded, Paris, Rayne, Sector 9

Thunder Hollow Lights Skateboard Trucks - polished hollow lights ii (151)
I skated from the mid-80's to the early 90's, and just started back almost a year ago. Back then, I never skated Thunders. Now, I have two sets and really like them. I usually don't pay too much attention to truck weight, because a few grams seems so negligible. But, these do feel lighter on my setup. At 16, I think all of my boards were probably heavy. We had big 60mm wheels, deck rails, and no light trucks. But when you're young, all is good. I could double kick flip those 10" boards like it was nothing. Now, at 51yo, it does help. I ended up using these trucks on Jackson Pilz 9.13 deck, and it's a perfect fit. That board feels noticeably lighter than all of my others. Coming back, I've skated brands that I skated back in the day...Venture(what I skated most back then) and Indy. But, I also have some Slappy Trucks. I really like how Thunders feel for wheelbase...it's a nice balance between Indy/Slappy and Venture. I also like the slightly lower truck height. Thunders are great!

Really slick look. Extremely light but as strong as any on the market. The best trucks I've ever purchased.

Thunder Hollow Lights Skateboard Trucks - polished hollow lights ii (161)
They very lightweight and I really like how they are built. Only thing I don’t like are the bushings but because I’m a beginner and factory bushings are too soft, it would be great i Tactics sells Thunder Bushings

Thunder Hollow Lights Skateboard Trucks - polished hollow lights ii (149)
If you want trucks that fit the board size they are designed for, Thunders are the ticket. Perfect turning, best stock bushings out there. Beautiful trucks.

They are very stable but you have to kick turn more than an Indy, it all depends on what you want to do. For me Thunders are the PERFECT trick, flip, ollie trucks, due to the design they do not crash the base plate like Indy's (this is a preference) and they are THE most stable trucks I have ridden and the only trucks I can ride (6'2" 230lbs) without having to replace the bushings. These are my go to trucks going forward!

Asked by Hugo on 8/20/2017
I usually ride 8.25 but occasionally will step down to 8.1. Will the 147's work for me ??
Answered by Graig A (Tactics Employee) on 8/24/2017
The 147s would work fine or the 148s, the trucks would just stick out the smallest amount on each side with an 8.1.
