Powell Peralta Dragon Formula V4 Skateboard Wheels
So I picked these up for a few reasons: 1. All the hype, I needed to see for myself 2.) all the older dudes on YouTube that I watch shred with these and they seem to think it helps, they all cant be wrong, and I need all the help I can get 3.) I needed new wheels for my new set up
Its cold up here in New England, so Ive only ridden these a few times since getting them in January. I can attest to the fact that they make the crunchy, cheese grater, cracked, in even asphalt ride of front feel like a smooth skatepark. I was putting in some practice on my older board that has 56mm spitfire burners on it then switched to my new set up with the V4 Dragon wheels 54mm and it was nigh and day. Rolling on the rough ground wasnt sketchy, I didn't feel like I was gonna get tossed with every imperfection of the road, and my feet didnt feel like there was a massage gun under them.
Ive also ridden these for a session at the skate park, very limited because most of it was covered in ice still, but they felt nice on the smooth concrete quarter pipe.
As a 39 yo beginner trying to grind and get better everyday, these wheels definitely help.
Also, they definitely help with my manuals, I think the slight give from a slightly softer durometer helps cushion the ride and I have definitely noticed I hold manuals twice as long as usual.
