New Balance Numeric 417 Franky Villani Skate Shoes
Bought these to skate and wear. Out of the box they appear well constructed with no apparent flaws anywhere. However, these shoes ran small for me (size 9, wheat/black) as they were very tight side-to-side in the toe box when I first put them on. In hindsight, I should have sent them back for next size up but me and my high hopes thought I could make them work because after all most new shoes dont really fit until they break in. When I wear a pair of crazy-thin socks they fit like a glove, but still not much room by the little toes. Franky must have skinny feet. After wearing them for a week the footbed just wasnt comfortable when walking around, so I replaced the insoles with a pair of PopCush I kept from an old pair of skate shoes and they definitely have a better daily-wear and skate feel now. Soles grip the board as they should. I made them work, but now I need to get more pairs of crazy-thin socks.
Like these shoes, they run a little small so I ordered a half size up from normal. They did come with a tiny rip in the suede near the toe, but I didn't feel like sending them back so I'm living with it.

New Balance Numeric 417 Franky Villani Skate Shoes - black/tan
I don't skate but I use skate shoes on my Onewheel. I bought these for trail riding and they've been pretty good for that. They fit tight-ish on the sides of the arch of your foot and these really lock your foot into the shoe. Board feel is pretty decent but impact absorption is better. Drops feel pretty good in these and you always know where your foot is on the board, not from the board feel since it's just pretty good/OK, but from the fact that your foot doesn't move in this shoe. For some that's good and others it's not. I think it's unique since I don't have anything else that holds my foot in place in shoe nearly as "locked" as these do.
Bought these shoes as a Xmas present to my boyfriend. He’s a skater. The shoes look and feel great he says but the first time skating in them they ripped where the fabric connects to the rubber shoe base. Luckily he was able to patch it up. He will be keeping the shoes for just casual wear instead of skating in them. I give them a 3 star.
