Im not sure if initially its as grippy as mob but the difference is barely noticeable, if there is one. Whats really different though is how long it stays grippy, with it lasting significantly longer than mob.

Jessup Ultra Skateboard Grip Tape
It’s basically just like mob, but maybe just a little less grippy at first. I have two razortailed decks, one with mob, one with ultra, and I’d say the durability and feel is about the same. So basically at first mob is more grippy, but as they both wear, they end up feeling the same and both last about the same it seems.

I've been a Jessup guy for a long time, the ultra is a must have upgrade IMO. It lasts longer and is just grippier enough, without feeling too grippy.
