Vans Authentic Pro Skate Shoes Wear Test Review

Vans Authentics have always been a favorite shoe for skaters and non-skaters alike because of their classic look, flexible design, and lightweight comfort.  The Vans Authentic Pro gives you the same style with three essential upgrades for the daily skater.  The flexible vulcanized construction features Van's ProVulc outsole for increased grip and durability.  An UltraCush HD insole provides overall comfort and increased support for running off tricks and jumping down stairs.  Canvas uppers usually scare off most skaters, but the Duracap rubber underlays line high wear areas to give long lasting durability after wearing through the outer layer of canvas.

Tactics team rider Beau Cummins skated this pair of Authentic Pro's for three weeks.  Although they look a little tattered, they still have plenty of life.  The canvas exterior quickly wore through in the ollie area, but the Duracap stayed strong underneath, and the ProVulc outsole still has a good amount of tread.  Its UltraCush HD insoles are Beau's favorite insoles because they allow him to skate thin, flexible shoes like the Authentics without worrying about heel bruises.  The only drawback that Beau found, was that the very thin upper provided little to no protection from shark bites.  However, it did allow to the shoe to be very flexible and allow natural board feel from day one.
