Tactics DECK-a-thlon 2016 | Recap
Skateboarding is now an official Olympic sport, so we took our sportsboarding contests to the next level. The second annual Tactics DECK-a-thlon pulled skaters out of the standard contest format to test their skills in ten dorky feats from mall grab discuss to crab walking, power sliding, and mongo pushing. Instead of subjectively judging best runs, we focused on the best thing about contests; skating hard, having fun with old friends, new homies, and little grommies. Points and prizes were awarded for rad tricks, race results, and longest ollies/manuals/grinds/tosses. Then, we finished the day with a winner takes all, final four head to head death race through the whole park. The Tactics DECK-a-thlon is nothing like what you'll see in the Olympics, Street League, or Park Series, and we like it that way.
