HUF Hupper 2 Skate Shoes Wear Test Review
The Hupper was one of HUF's flagship models when they first broke onto the shoe scene back in Fall 2010. Nearly a decade later, they've returned to their roots with the Hupper 2 Lo.
While the Hupper 2 Lo is obviously the second Hupper, they didn't just cut the collar down and call it good. No, the Hupper 2 is rebuilt from the ground up, starting with the new Infinity Rubber geometric tread outsole designed to be grippier and longer-lasting. A higher-profile foxing tape offers enhanced durability, grip and general stability. The insole, which utilizes HUF's trademark dual-density Perfshock technology, provides excellent board feel in the toes while maintaining impact protection in the heel.
We had local ripper, Dylan Chrisman, take a pair out for a spin at WJ Skatepark. Dylan's first impressions were that the Hupper 2s fit very true to size and felt completely broken-in after only 20 minutes of skating in them. He noted that the flick on the shoes is perfect out-of-the-box, not too much grip and definitely not too little, making for great feeling ollies and kickflips. He's usually a guy who swaps out stock insoles for aftermarket ones, but he said that the Perfshock insoles were too good to take out and that his feet felt fine after jumping down gaps with them all day. The shoes also withstood the test of time, he'd been skating the pair in the video for nearly two months and they looked like they could last another couple weeks, at least.
