Go Skateboarding Day 2017 | Eugene, OR
Go Skateboarding Day isn't special because of the date; skateboarders are gonna skate every day of the year. It's not special because it's the longest day on the calendar; sunlight isn't necessary for skateboarding. What makes Go Skateboarding Day special is that it brings skateboarders together. Let's be honest, skateboarding can be kind of clique-y. This city's crew, that park's crew, the old guys, etc. There's nothing quite like looking in a skatepark and seeing skaters of all different ages, skill sets and backgrounds coming together to do what we all love: skateboard.
We started off our GSD by meeting up with some locals at the Autzen Foot Bridge for a wee session then barging down the bike path all the way back to WJ Skatepark. We had some games of S.K.A.T.E., a couple races, some high-ollie action and a bunch more events. All in all, it was a pretty typical Go Skateboarding Day: beautiful weather, a park full of people enjoying the hell out of it and so much SKATEBOARDING! Huge thanks to Adidas and Element for hooking it up with prizes to get everyone even omre stoked. It was a great GSD, we can't wait to do it again and we hope you'll join us for the next one!
