Emerica Hsu Low Vulc Skate Shoes Wear Test Review
The Hsu G6 is one of our favorite skate shoes of 2016, so when the Hsu Low Vulc came out, we had to get them on the feet of Tactics team rider and shop manager Justin James for a wear test review.
The low vulc discards the G6 frame and midsole for a thinner upper and a G6 insole. This makes the shoe break in faster and keeps your feet closer to the board for better control. Although the shoe feels more thin, the insole provided enough support to give Justin confidence when jumping down stairs and gaps. After about a month of daily skating, Justin was ready to retire the shoes. The outsole still has some life and no seams have ripped, but the toe has a growing hole. They aren't the most durable shoes out there, but they held up very similarly to the Hsu G6 and better than many other suede shoes.
Trying to decide between the mid and the low? If you mostly skate flat ground, manny pads, ledges, and mini ramps, go with the low. If you want a more secure fit with better impact protection for bigger tranny or stair sets, go with the mid. Learn more from our Emerica Hsu G6 Wear Test Review.
