DC Switch Plus S Wear Test Review

Sometimes you get things right on the first try only to later realize that there is always room for improvement.

The Switch S from DC Shoes was already a well-performing shoe in terms of skateability, but it definitely melted into the huge crowd of full-toe vulc shoes on the market. Enter the Switch Plus S: a slightly beefier, much more durable version of the Switch S. Nearly every change that went into the Plus was an effort to make the shoe skate better and/ or last longer. Recessed stitching on panels to prevent tearing, a thicker foxing tape for added stability, implementing the Impact-I Cone technology into the outsole as well as replacing the standard insole with an Impact-S insole for superior impact protection as well as board feel. These bad boys are ready for anything you can dish out.

We had warehouse ripper and shoe review extraordinaire, Tim "The Real" McCoy take a pair out to our warehouse for a "ware" test. The first thing Tim noticed is that the shoe was longer than usual, giving him more toe room than he's used to, indicating that it might be worth stepping down half a size or so in these shoes. The Super Suede did its thing and didn't tear until Tim went to Windells Skate Camp and skated them for nearly 40 hours in a just a few days. While they didn't tear for nearly three weeks he said that once the holes appeared they spread pretty fast. The thing Tim was the most hyped on was the impact protection. He said between the Impact-I outsole and the Impact-S insole that the Switch Plus had the best impact protection of any vulcanized shoe he's skated.

That's technology at work, folks. Click the link below to grab a pair for yourself!
