Converse One Star Pro Skate Shoes Wear Test Review

The One Star Pro is a staple in the Converse CONS' lineup for a reason.  Its simple design and quality materials wrap snugly around your feet for a comfortable fit with natural board feel.  The vulcanized construction is complemented well by Lunarlon insoles that add support and impact protection without hindering flexibility. Many skate shoes are now using elastic straps to prevent tongue slippage, but the One Star takes it one step further.  Both edges of the tongue are stitched to an internal mesh booty system that both stops tongue movement and creates a more secure fit.

Tactics customer service rep Bryan Lau skated the pair below for nearly two months.  The wear is clearly noticeable in just about every area of the shoe, but there are still no blowouts.  The outsole has lost most of its tread, but there are no holes.  The toecap seam is directly in a high wear area, but it somehow stood up to the abuse.  It doesn't quite have a "rubber toecap", but it does have a significant amount of foxing tape around the toe for added durability.  Bryan's only complaint about durability was that the Lunarlon insoles seemed to pack out after the first month and lose much of their support.  However, with the amount of hours put into these shoes, its safe to say that they held up far better than most other shoes we've tested.
