Vulcanized - “Vulc” shoes are light, flexible and break in quickly. These don't provide as much foot protection as cupsoles, but they are preferred if you’re looking for good board feel in a shoe with less weight and bulk.

ADITUFF™ - ADITUFF™ technology uses a rubber-backed material in the toe box which delivers abrasion resistance, extending the life of the shoe.
HEX-FLEX Rubber Outsole - An innovative tread pattern provides superior grip and unmatched flex, resulting in greater control and boardfeel.

Adidas Gazelle ADV Skate Shoes
Runs wide enough in the toe for my wide foot, unlike the rest of the Adidas models. Narrow footers may need to size down. The sole is thick and strong enough to support a bigger person (unlike my old newbally379s), and the insole can be replaced with something thicker if needed. This is the only wider fitting shoe that anyone makes in a 13.5, so I bought many pairs. I'm skating a leather and suede pair right now. They don't hurt my ankles or achillies. Sole is very grippy, no complaints. I love 'em. A skinnier silhouette then most shoes I've worn, the fit felt kinda funny at first. But, after breaking em in, they quickly formed to my wide foot. Extremely happy. A very responsive shoe. The leather ones took a few more sessions to break in, and skate like typical leather shoes. They do feel stronger then the suede, like for going big, but I prefer the suede. Adidas, Please do not stop making these.
